What is an Hague Convention Apostille?
An Apostille service is required for all types of documents that are to be used outside the United States. It certifies to the authenticity of the signature of the official who signed the document. Documents sent to member nations, completed with an Apostille at the State level, may be submitted directly to member nations without further action. Apostilles are available in countries, which signed the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization of Foreign Public Documents, known as The Hague Convention. This Convention, created in 1961, replaces the time consuming chain certification process used so far.
